Destination Weddings in Scotland![]() For those who are "tartan to the core," hike up your kilts (not too far!) and head to the Highlands! Given Scotland's edgy climate; the raw, dramatic beauty of its green, craggy mountains and icy lakes; and its fiercely fought for identity, the Scottish are a feisty, loyal bunch. There is much to discover in this land of castles, abbeys, galleries, museums, world-class golf courses and scenic villages...including some of the most romantic destination wedding locations imaginable! Today's Scottish couples usually celebrate at one of the many local castles or country manors, complete with bagpipes, Gaelic blessings, and a lively Ceilidh band for Highland dancing. The Scottish Highlands are still very remote and wild, while Scotland's Edinburgh and Glasgow are two of Europe's most interesting eclectic, and artsy cosmopolitan cities. Climate: Statistically, your best chances of good weather are the months of May, June and September. Given that July and August (warm, but also often wet), are the most popular months for tourists, you might avoid them, and plan on traveling in September instead. Hotel prices (and temperatures) drop heartily in the winter months; why not see the highlands, and the highlanders, at their most dramatic?
