One of the designer’s favorite fabric choices is linen; a fabric unusual in bridal gowns. For a summer nuptials, a strapless, A-line dress is embellished with rarified pink French ribbon - perfect, she says, “for destination beach weddings”.

Catering to the classic, romantic bride, Carmela feels it is most important to feel especially beautiful and comfortable on the day of her marriage and not concern herself with the dictates of fashion. “The wedding day is like no other day in a woman’s life and her dress should reflect the importance and formality of the occasion,” says Sutera. “No matter what the trends, she should make personal style a top priority and choose a design that highlights her best features.
